I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two time world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
